Sullivan Akala

Sullivan is the Executive Director in charge of Strategy & Corporate Development. Prior to coming on Board Optima Energy Resources Limited, he had extensive experiences in banking & fintech, quality education and a great exposure to innovative business concepts. He had over 20 years’ experience in banking covering operations, branch banking, International banking, consumer and corporate banking from notable institutions like UTB, Zenith and UBA.

He was with Zenith for 14 years+ and rose to be General Manager in charge of RAMCE (Real Estate, Agric, Mortgage, Consumer and Export Credit) Group. At UBA, he was GM/Bank Head of Apapa Bank and later, Director of Corporate Bank. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Finance from the University of Lagos and MBA from Kellogg-Schulich School of Business, Toronto Canada and Chicago, USA. He also had various first class training from Andersen Consulting, Lagos Business School, London Business School and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).

Lanre Sotunde is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He holds a BSc in Banking and finance from Lagos State University, as well as MSc in Finance from University of Lagos.

He is an Associate Microfinance Operator of the Chartered institute of Bankers (CIBN). He has over 22 years’ experience covering Audit, Oil and Gas, Banking, investment Portfolio Management, Corporate finance and Financial Analysis.

He was at a time, a financial Analyst in Magnum Trust Bank Limited (Now Sterling Bank) and the Head Structured Credit Oceanic Bank International Plc, with major responsibilities for the initiation and management of bilateral transactions, multilateral transactions and loan syndications.

He was the COO Parkway Finance Limited, where he also doubles as the Chief Finance officer and Enterprise Risk Management officer.

Lanre facilitates for ICAN as well as Dale and Parker training outfit in areas of Financial Analysis, Credit Administration and Enterprise Risk Management. He was the past Secretary of the National Association of Microfinance Banks, and a member of the Advocacy committee of the Association.

He is currently the CFO of Optima Energy Resources, with major responsibility for the provision of operational and programmatic support to the organization, which includes financial and business strategies.

Brijesh Shetty , graduated in commerce from Manipal University, India. He then started to pursue his career with an Audit firm for 6 years before moving to Accra, Ghana in 2001 & to Nigeria in 2002. He has corporate experience in the areas of Finance, Accounts, Auditing, Banking & Strategic planning. He worked in various capacities in India & abroad with companies engaged in Manufacturing, Trading ,Oil & Gas.

Brijesh Shetty has been with Optima from 2010 and has played a active role in the success of the company.
